News and updates coming to Cyberpunk 2077
In addition to the contents dedicated to the new anime series (which include some new quests, clothes and a weapon skin) Amatangelo spoke about a series of technical improvements coming into the future of Cyberpunk. “I want to say to all members of the community that we have been listening to you: a complete makeover of the police and vehicular combat is on the way,” she said.
Finally i policemen they will no longer teleport into the middle of the desert, even if they commit crimes that no one sees, and they will no longer chase V on foot, despite having cars at their disposal: they were certainly funny bugs but nobody will miss them.
At the level of gameplayinstead, some aspects of the skill tree will be revised and improved. As far as aesthetics are concerned, cyberware (all the enhancements at the heart of Cyberpunk’s aesthetics) will be revised to “make it feel truly cyber in your hands”.
Finally, to remove many limitations related to old gen, patch 1.6 will be the last major update for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Future patches and the new expansion will only come out for PS5 and Series X | S as well as for PC and Stadia. Technical support, however, will continue to be there to remove the bugs and make everything work correctly. We also remind you that the update to the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S version of Cyberpunk 2077 is free for all owners of the game in PS4 and Xbox One format.
The analysis of the Phantom Liberty trailer
The teaser trailer shown during the latest Night City Wire opens with V, the protagonist of Cyberpunk, taking the oath to join the army of New United States of America, we do not know whether spontaneously or by someone else’s will. Things, of course, go wrong: we see military vehicles crashing, gun fights and piles of corpses of what appear to be high-ranking officers.
Most of the Phantom Liberty events will take place in a new neighborhood of Night City, of which we do not yet know the distinctive features. However, we can probably expect the presence of a military base.
The cast of characters with whom we interact will be completely new, except for the return of Jonny Silverhand, the rocker played by Keanu Reeves who lives in the head of V. For a few seconds a new female character in military uniform is also framed: that is the voice to which V is taking the oath? “We have implemented a new narrative style for the management of the missions that we are having a lot of fun with,” added Amatangelo.
At the level of new weapons we can expect a kind of incandescent whip that can cut through everything it touches, a new sword similar to a katana and a grenade launcher with a high destructive power. “There is also a new gameplay loop for melee weapons planned,” concluded the Game Director, we will probably see it implemented in this new expansion.
Recall that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PC and Google Stadia.
