Honor 70 Review - Andrea Galeazzi

Honor 70 Review – Andrea Galeazzi

You have already seen it in the “day with” that I spent with him in Berlin and here we are for the full review! I confirm you an excellent display, always clearly visible, an autonomy above the average and also a concrete and reliable room compartment in all situations. In short, the new Honor is on the right track and he is an excellent mid-range.

Packaging and content

In packaging we find a transparent silicone cover, the 66W power supply and the data / power cable from USB-C to USB-A.

Design and touch-and-feel materials

There construction it is made of glass and metal, pleasant to the touch and comfortable to hold despite the curved edges. Thickness and weight are reduced, we are talking about 7.9mm And 178 grams.

The fingerprint sensor for unlocking is positioned under the AMOLED display while as regards the connectivity we find 5G, WiFi6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC and USB-C 2.0 port.

Display

The display it’s a OLED from 6.67 ″ with curved edges, pixel density of 395 PPI and refresh rate a 120Hz. I have already talked about his quality during the day spent with him in Berlin and I confirm the excellent visibility under the sun.

Processor and memory

The processor it is Snapdragon 778G + 5G with 8GB from RAM And 128 / 256GB from UFS 3.1 internal memory not expandable.

Battery

There battery it’s a 4,800mAh with refill a 66W, 60% in 20 minutes and 100% in about 40, but no wireless charging.

Autonomy really Great, almost from a battery-phone, it arrives in the evening of my stress day with still 30% residual.

Software and ecosystem

The interface is that of the Magic UI 6.1, based on Android 12 and with patches updated in July. I would have preferred a modernization and a clear differentiation from that of Huawei, which will probably come with the Magic UI 7, for now I don’t like not being able to swipe down to pull down the notification curtain and not being able to open a application directly from notifications.

Telephone department

Honor 70 is dual-nanoSIM and about reception and audio quality on call I have not encountered any problems, the only lack lies in the dialer which does not allow you to record calls and does not warn about possible SPAM numbers.

Photo and video

The room compartment is equipped with:

  • room principal 54MP with 1 / 1.49 ″ IMX800 sensor,
  • room ultra-wide angle 50MP with 122 ° viewing angle,
  • room for effect bokeh 2MP,
  • room front 32MP.

As already mentioned in the “day with” the performance of the rooms sector is not not bad, certainly does not excel but for the price range it does well in all light conditions. It lacks a bit of quality when we want to use the zoom but not having a dedicated telephoto lens was to be expected. The same goes for videos, which reach 4K 60FPS and up to 4K 30FPS allow switching from one camera to another during recording.

Audio

L‘audio unfortunately it is mono, it only comes out from the lower speaker, but it still feels quite good both in volume and in the presence of bass.

Apps and gaming

The performance they are not bad, nothing extraordinary but more than adequate for normal daily use.

Final judgement

The final judgement must necessarily pass from price namely from 549 euros for the 8 / 128GB And 599 euros for the 8 / 256GB (although at the moment you can find it at 549 on the Honor site with also Earbuds 3 Pro headphones worth 199 euros). A little high but in line with this year’s prices which have been affected by the increased costs of the entire production chain. However, he behaves well, is pleasant to use and does not disappoint in any sector, a good mid-range!
