Salvatore Antonio Grasso, owner of the Gorizia pizzeria in Naples, showed a receipt with the items of light, gas and rent inside: the reactions
Over 100 comments, dozens of likes and shares. In the summer of expensive bills, another receipt it earns the social limelight. This time, however, it is not a customer who feeds it to the web, but the same holder. Is called Salvatore Antonio Grasso and manages the Gorizia pizzeria in Naples. To cope with an electricity bill of over 8 thousand euros launched his proposal on his Facebook profile: add the items of electricity, gas and rent of the venue to the receipt, publishing the photo. The controversy broke out, with users divided.
The receipt post
Last 25 August Salvatore Antonio Grasso, owner of the Gorizia pizzeria in Naples, published the photo of the electricity bill, to be paid by 30 August: 8,299.67 euros (in July-August of 2021 he says he has paid 2,500 euros).
Over the bill, however, Grasso has rested two receipts.
The total is similar, there is a variation of about 30 cents. But what leaps to the eye are the voices within the non-tax receipts.
In fact, in the first receipt appear unusual contributions: gas, energy and rent, as well as one Pizza margherita and to one bottle of water.
In the second, higher receipt, there are only the pizza and the drink: but the prices are major.
The margherita has gone from 5 to 8 euros, water from 2 to 2.50 euros.
The reason? In the second receipt, in fact, the owner has included in the cost of pizza and water the contributions of light, gas And rent of the room.
So on Facebook he asked, in his public post, if it would be right to enter “the rumors that led us to raise prices“.
Reactions on social media: who defends the owner
There are those who are in solidarity with the owner of the pizzeria: “Crazy things, and there are those who have the courage to complain about the 8 euro margherita. With the costs of electricity, gas, personnel and rent the price to cover should be at least 10 euros and they don’t understand that there is also a considerable effort to leave it only 8 euros. Raw material costs then we do not talk about it “.
Between the serious and the facetious, someone also brings up the pizza of Flavio Briatore: “In the end, Briatore was not entirely wrong in selling the margherita for 15 euros“.
Others foresee a negative vortex for everyone: “This will trigger a great crisismerchants cannot work at a loss and increase prices, customers who work and receive the same salary will eat a few less pizza, and so we will all go to ruin ”.
Controversy for the receipt
But there are not only supportive comments. There are those who define the post as one “Clown” and writes: “Maybe after this antics some of his colleagues could also insert the transfer ‘Contributory black escaped for pizza chefs and waiters‘”.
It’s still: “It was enough to increase the price of pizza on the menu, no one would object. This boutade solves nothing, in my humble opinion “.
Finally: “But sorry, what is the price of a product given? Isn’t it already included in the production and management costs? Why do you find it necessary to dramatize the issue? Do families, workers, even your workers, in your opinion, are living different experiences from this story? The increases are necessary, stop. You should use your effort to contribute to better policies, not always delegate responsibilities and theatrically offload them. The responsibilities belong to everyone, even those who choose to always turn their backs on general problems, emphasizing only their own “.
The owner’s response
To the microphones of the Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Grasso said that his “is one provocation. Also because if you put those costs in the receipt I should also pay VAT. However, it highlights how expensive energy affects our costs and why we have been forced to increase prices ”.
